The legal sports betting map keeps growing. Missouri went live at the end of last year after voters approved it, and more states keep working bills through their legislatures, which means a lot of fans are getting access for the first time. With football season here, the sportsbooks are throwing promos at everyone in sight. This is a discussion board, not tout central, so let us keep it smart. How do you approach it, flat betting, a set bankroll, hunting value on player props, or just a few fun wagers on your team? What is the one rule you never break? And a real reminder up top: only ever bet what you can afford to lose, and if it stops being fun, step away.

My only rule is a fixed unit size and I never move it when I am losing. The chase is what wrecks everyone. Treat it like the price of entertainment, not an income plan.

Player props are where the fun is for me, small stakes, more about sweating one specific guy than the whole game outcome. Set a monthly limit and stick to it, simple as that.
