Baltimore's quarterback situation has become increasingly difficult, so I can understand why the Ravens are reportedly working to bring Jacoby Brissett over from Arizona.
Brissett isn't going to solve every problem facing this team, but he would give Baltimore something it desperately needs right now: an experienced quarterback who can step into a difficult situation without having to learn everything from scratch.
He's thrown 10 touchdown passes and seven interceptions for Arizona this season. Those numbers aren't spectacular, but the Ravens shouldn't be expecting a superstar performance. They need somebody who can manage the offense, avoid unnecessary mistakes and keep them competitive while their quarterback situation gets sorted out.
Joe Fagnano is still scheduled to start against Jacksonville, with the trade not expected to be completed until the weekend. That means Baltimore will have to get through another game before potentially having Brissett available.
Personally, I'd be comfortable making this move if the asking price is reasonable. There's no point pretending an inexperienced rookie can carry the entire burden while the team deals with injuries at quarterback.
Brissett might only be a temporary solution, but sometimes a sensible short-term decision is exactly what a struggling team needs.
Would you make the trade if the price is modest, or would you stick with Joe Fagnano and see what the rookie can do before bringing in another quarterback?
