Rest effects are messy, but field position and possession value are real. Elapsed clock alone does not prove offensive dominance.

Everyone clips the 55-yard touchdown, but my favorite possession this week was thirteen plays, three third-down conversions, and a touchdown from the two. It rested a defense, quieted the building, and made the opposing pass rush look tired on the next series. Analytics folks: does drive length create measurable value beyond the seven points, or am I romanticizing old-fashioned ball control?
