MightyTips called Porto to beat Napoli at odds of 1.98 before Wednesday's Champions League match. Porto went on to win 4-1, so that's certainly a prediction worth celebrating.
But here's my problem with sports tipsters. One winning prediction doesn't tell me much about the quality of their overall service.
I want to see the complete record, including the embarrassing losses that rarely get the same attention as a successful pick. Every prediction should have a publication timestamp, the original odds, the recommended stake and the final result.
I'd also want monthly profit and loss figures, return on investment and a breakdown by sport and competition. Most importantly, the record shouldn't allow losing selections to quietly disappear or winning odds to be changed after the event.
There's a difference between being right about Porto and demonstrating that your predictions consistently offer value.
What would convince you that a betting tipster is genuinely worth following? A high win rate, independently verified results, or a complete record showing profit and loss over hundreds of predictions?
