A £123m transfer fee is going to attract attention, especially when the goals and assists aren't coming. But there's one thing worth remembering about Bradley Barcola: he didn't decide how much somebody was willing to pay for him.

As reported in Sky's interview and highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, Barcola went through 10 appearances for club and country without scoring or providing an assist. That's the sort of statistic that gives critics plenty of ammunition. Then came his hat-trick against LASK, followed by assists in back-to-back league victories.

Suddenly, there's a little more reason to be patient.

Liverpool need to resist the temptation to judge him purely by his transfer fee or a handful of disappointing performances. Good attacking partnerships take time to develop. Players need to understand each other's movements, timing and preferences before everything starts clicking.

I'd rather see Liverpool work on building those connections between their forwards than start questioning Barcola's value every time he has a quiet afternoon.

Of course, patience can't last forever. The real test is whether he can produce that same attacking threat consistently against the strongest defenses in the league. That's where the big money starts to come under scrutiny.

Would you give Barcola time to settle and build chemistry with his teammates, or should a player carrying a £123m price tag be expected to deliver immediately?
