The Jets own the Colts' 2027 first-round pick. Great for the future, but what about winning now?

There's something rather amusing about the Jets benefiting from another team's draft position while their own supporters are left wondering when their team will finally get its act together.

New York holds Indianapolis' 2027 first-round pick, which could become a valuable asset if the Colts struggle. That's certainly good news for the Jets' long-term plans. But try telling that to supporters who just watched another 38-33 home defeat, this time against the Raiders.

And here's what makes the loss particularly frustrating.

Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell combined for 12 catches, with 13 of their receptions resulting in first downs, according to the supplied game report. That's some serious production. These are players giving the offense something to work with, yet the Jets still couldn't get over the line.

At some point, the coaching staff needs to answer some uncomfortable questions. If the passing game can produce like that, where is the breakdown? Is it the defense, the play calling or the inability to make the right decisions when the game is on the line?

Draft picks are valuable. Nobody is arguing otherwise. But fans don't buy season tickets because they're excited about a first-round selection a year from now.

They want to see progress on the field.

How much patience should Jets supporters have with this rebuild?
